Things to do in Zekreet
Zekreet sits roughly 80-90 km west of Doha, about 75-90 minutes by road, on the way to Dukhan.
The draw is the abandoned Film City set, a mock Arab village built for filming and left standing, not a working studio, plus the wind-carved mushroom rock formations nearby and, inside the Brouq Nature Reserve, Richard Serra's four steel plates East-West/West-East.
The last stretch off the paved road runs over loose sand and needs a 4x4; an ordinary rental saloon will get stuck. Most visitors cover the three sites, plus the Al Shahaniya camel track, on a single half-day or full-day desert-and-west-Qatar tour from Doha, priced roughly EUR 60-120 per person depending on group size and season.
